Racing for Uncle Ross

In 2005 my family started participating in Walk for ALS with my Uncle’s team “Ross’s Race for Research”. After his 8-year battle with ALS I continued to raise awareness in his memory with my team “Racing for Uncle Ross”. This year was my 20th Walk! My Uncle was a biologist for the Ministry of Natural Resources and loved to be up north at our family cottage. He would often take us on family camping trips (not always my favourite - hahaha) but I’m sure grateful for those memories now. We also made the most of our 8 years doing as many things as possible, even in his wheelchair and ALWAYS with a smile. His smile was infectious, and laugh would brighten even the gloomiest of days. We think of him every day, and find comfort when the eagle flies over the cottage, we know he’s watching over us all.
