ALS Disrupt provides a unique experience within the global ALS ecosystem that brings key opinion leaders together to have candid conversations on important and timely topics in front of an audience, rather than in individual conversations, with the goal of collectively tackling complex issues and exploring novel solutions. ALS Disrupt will bring the important, serious discussions the field needs into a fun, collegial atmosphere, with the goal of accelerating impact toward a world free of ALS.

Due to the scientific nature of the discussions and content, this event is designed specifically for researchers, clinicians, and professionals working in the ALS field. It is not intended for a lay audience.

We recognize the importance of patient representation in shaping the future of ALS research and care. A small number of people affected by ALS will be present by invitation only, ensuring their voices are heard.

Day 1

Saturday, April 25, 2026
5:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. ET

ALS Disrupt begins on April 25 with an exciting evening of scientific exchange and networking. The program features a plenary lecture, rapid-fire presentations from Canadians researchers, and an introduction to ALS Disrupt. The night includes a buffet dinner and reception.

Day 2

Sunday, April 26, 2026
8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. ET

The following day, the program will feature four dynamic sessions focused on timely, critical topics in ALS research. Throughout the event, there will also be networking opportunities to connect with global leaders, researchers, and advocates.

Sessions at ALS Disrupt are designed to move beyond traditional presentations and foster open, candid dialogue among experts.

Each discussion begins with brief opening perspectives from panelists providing their insights on the topic and the current state of the field. After these initial remarks, the session transitions into a moderated, interactive discussion and debate, encouraging diverse viewpoints, real-time problem-solving, and collaborative exploration of novel ideas. This format ensures that conversations are dynamic, inclusive, and focused on driving meaningful progress in ALS research and care.

Session #1: What is the minimum preclinical evidence to prioritise a drug for therapeutic evaluation?

Session #2: TDP-43: pathological cornerstone or tombstone?

Session #3: On what should we base decisions about which drugs to move from Phase 2 to 3?

Session #4: What areas of dogma in ALS research should we be discussing more constructively?

The detailed agenda will be posted as soon as it becomes available.

Travel and accommodation are not included in the registration fee and must be booked independently.
