Applications are now open for the Canadian ALS Learning Institute (CALI), an online learning experience developed for people affected by ALS, including people living with the disease, caregivers, or bereaved caregivers, who want to better understand ALS research, therapy development and access in Canada, and become stronger advocates for the issues that matter to the community.
“There is an incredible amount of information coming at people affected by ALS, and the CALI helps give people the tools to help better understand the disease, ask informed questions, and speak confidently about what living with this disease or being touched by the disease really means,” said Jennifer Asselin, Vice-President, Marketing, Strategic Communications, and Knowledge Exchange at ALS Canada. “CALI graduates become trusted sources in the community, sharing their experiences and perspectives with media and helping inform government policy, research, care, and support. Their voices help ensure the ALS community is part of the conversations and decisions that affect them.”
CALI graduates become ALS Canada Community Ambassadors, opening the door to opportunities to put their learning, experience, and voice into action.
The 2027 CALI program begins January 14, with live virtual modules taking place Thursday and Friday afternoons through February 5.
