Canada is home to world-class ALS researchers, leading clinics, and a strong community that is united for change. But without a National ALS Research Strategy, progress remains fragmented, and too many Canadians living with ALS are left behind.

This September, ALS Canada is launching a bold new advocacy campaign calling on the federal government to invest in the Canadian Collaboration to Cure ALS, a coordinated, made-in-Canada ALS Research Strategy. With your support, we can send a united message: every Canadian living with ALS deserves the chance to benefit from the advances that research makes possible.

Why a National Research Strategy matters:

  • No Canadian left behind. Whether you live in a big city or a rural community, every person deserves the opportunity to participate in and benefit from research.
  • Built on strength. We’re not starting from scratch. Canada already has strong programs, expert clinicians, and a foundation of strong research. Now is the time to bring these efforts together.
  • A full-spectrum approach. From unlocking the earliest biological clues of ALS to improving access to clinical trials, this strategy will drive progress across the entire research continuum.
  • Made in Canada, for Canadians. Keeping Canadian data here at home ensures privacy, security, and ethical use that benefits all Canadians.

We already have the tools. What we need now is bold federal leadership to match the courage and determination of our community.
