Against Limits Sailing – Race to Alaska
Location: Port Townsend, Washington & Ketchikan, Alaska
Background: After losing two dear friends to ALS, Richard Spooner, Ken Holland, and Michael Stochmal will be participating in the R2AK. They’ll be racing north in a sailboat powered by wind and by oars, accepting exhaustion, uncertainty, and discomfort as part of the deal. They’re doing this in support of the ALS Society of Canada, for people facing challenges they didn’t choose and can’t step away from when things get hard. “Our goal is to turn effort into momentum — raising awareness and support for ALS while earning every mile north. We want to demonstrate that progress, however slow, still matters”.
