The ALS Society of Canada (ALS Canada) is proud to share that the Canadian ALS Learning Institute (CALI) program has received the Silver Leaf Award of Merit in the Community Relations category from the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Canada. This award honours excellence in strategic communication and delivering a program that is shaped and informed by the ALS community for the ALS community.
“We’re honoured to receive the IABC Silver Leaf Award of Merit, which recognizes ALS Canada’s work in engaging and supporting people affected by ALS through the CALI to ensure they have trusted information to navigate a diagnosis and understand advocacy and research within the ALS ecosystem,” says Tammy Moore, CEO of ALS Canada. “This award is a testament to the ALS community whose lived experiences have helped shape and inform the CALI. We hope this recognition allows more people to discover and benefit from the program.”
The CALI is a free, online, small-group learning experience for people living with and affected by ALS. The program is led by experts who share their insights into navigating the Canadian ALS landscape, including clinical research, therapy development and access in Canada, and advocacy on issues that impact the ALS community. People who complete the CALI program become ALS Canada Community Ambassadors and participate in opportunities to influence and improve ALS research and advocacy initiatives.
Applications for the 2025 CALI program are now open. Learn more or apply before the deadline of November 18, 2024: als.ca/advocacy/canadian-als-learning-institute/.
