The ALS Society of Canada is pleased to welcome Kyle Thompson to its Board of Directors. Kyle is no stranger to ALS Canada or the ALS community. Over the last two years, he has served on the Finance and Audit Committee and has hosted fundraisers in support of the organization.
Kyle is a Wealth Manager at Odlum Brown Limited in Vancouver, where he has worked with clients since 2014. He is a Chartered Investment Manager and a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute, and a member of the firm’s Corner Group, a long‑standing team that oversees more than $1.6 billion in assets under management. Kyle holds degrees from Towson University and Simon Fraser University and brings a relationship‑focused approach grounded in trust and integrity.
Kyle’s decision to join ALS Canada’s Board of Directors is shaped by personal experience with ALS through loved ones affected by the disease.
“I first learned about ALS through someone very close to me who showed great strength, bravery, and grace while dealing with this devastating disease,” said Kyle. “She was like a mother to me and a bright light to all who knew her. I felt a responsibility to do my part to help make this a treatable disease and honour her legacy. Over time, I also saw friends and other families facing the same reality. I look forward to working with the Board to advance research and initiatives that support the ALS community.”
ALS Canada is grateful for Kyle’s continued commitment and looks forward to the perspective and leadership he will bring to the Board.
ALS Canada’s Board of Directors is made up of volunteers from diverse backgrounds who contribute their time, experience, and leadership to help guide the organization and ensure donor dollars are used responsibly and effectively.
